Personal Training

coach man woman exercising abdominals with bosuI`m sure you have been to a gym with several personal trainers with their clients rallying over machines which are in use by maybe dozens of people. This environment is most definably not private at this makes it very hard for a trainer to give a personal tailored service and can also cause embarrassment in some people.  The space within TMA is a lot more private.

The Martial academy only recommends REPS qualified level 3 personal trainers.

What’s involved in the initial consultation?

Firstly we will talk through our clients goals to see what they wish to achieve, how long it will take and what will be required.

secondly you will have to fill in a PAR-Q and a consent form, these forms will indicate whether or not you may need to be referred to your GP before undertaking a personal training programme.

Thirdly we will perform a series of tests, these typically include;  resting heart rate, BMI, height, weight, blood pressure, body fat percentage and some basic fitness and range of motion assessments.

Finally we will talk through your nutrition.

It may seem a little over the top to undergo such a complete assessment but the way we see it is that it is impossible to gauge progress unless there is a baseline.

Who do we cater for? Well everyone who can benefit from a personal service this can be doctor’s referrals, people wishing to get the most out of their body, people with high BMI right up to competition athletes with a specific goal, target, or skill set they need to work on.

How much does it cost? As personal training is not part of our charity it is priced separately by the personal trainer in person. Typically the  Costs start at just £20.00 per hour when booked in slots of ten and only £25.00 to £30.00 per hour if you pay as you go.
